Childhood life lessons Original
A teddy bear,
Held firmly in my grip
A single rip in it,
but the memories remain there,
year after year.
Childhood life lessons learned.
lessons learned to prepare
for what awaits you out there.
Choices made in childhood,
Firmly grace your plate,
Answers to simple questions
Hang high above your head.
Memories like riding my first bike,
how I really tried and tried.
Many more memories remain,
Fast forward
To my first school dance.
So embarrassed, my face turned red with panic,
when I broke my shoe and everyone laughed.
My friends so true,
that I thought I knew.
But I have come to know I only need a few.
Many things I learned,
I will never forget,
the childhood life lessons
that made me who I am.
