The birds chirp as springtime begins
The sun melting the dew
From the evergreen blades of grass
Starting the day anew

The sweet shining of the songbird
Awakening the bear
Hibernating for the winter
Emerging from his lair

The sun comes like a meteor
Flying across the sky
Warming the Earth 'till next winter
When, again, it says Goodbye

The author's comments:
Our assignment in my English class was to come up with a 8-6-8-6 poem and I started writing a couple. Then I got the idea of nature and went with it. I think this is one of my best that I wrote like this.
