Summer days
You and I run off the slippery wet dock
Jumping into the fresh crisp air
Before descending into a blanket of cold water,
As we keep smiling the sun feeds us protection from the cold.
Our bodies blister red and skin wrinkles.
The milky white sand rubs in between our pruned toes
Sly smiles spread across our sleepy faces
And we share a look of happy summer days
The sun sinks down and the moon makes a grand appearance
The smell of burnt s’mores fills the chilled air
And we take cover under a knitted brown blanket.
The day’s events take over and we slowly close our eyes
