Absence
The idea is there, I swear
Hanging on by a thread.
If I reach out to grab it,
It falls as if it's dead.
Stolen away from my grasp,
Am I being taunted?
“Hahaha” the idea says.
It makes me feel haunted.
A blank page sits in the dark.
“Write it down, write it down!”
The empty lines seem to chant,
As they wear a twisted frown.
“If I had a good idea,”
I said to the blank page,
“Then my passions would adhere to it,
A war of words I'd wage.”
