Loving You
Loving you was self destruction;
An ache that tore me apart.
You got lower and lower until underground,
And helping you was hard.
I wanted to take your sadness,
And replace it with something beautiful.
I would have given you everything,
And vowed to always stay dutiful.
I have a flower for every thought of you;
I walk in an eternal garden.
I will have to learn to leave one day;
My heart will have to harden.
But for now, I lay some to rest above your head,
Like the crown you never had.
Now even the sky has decided to cry,
At least the flowers will be glad.
