The One You Called 'The One'
Everyone’s eyes are on the time
We said we’d spend together,
As if money was no object,
And we had all the time in forever.
You finally stopped caring,
That hurt me more than you know.
Everything changed when you left,
Though I told you not to go.
Silence was beginning to hurt,
So I slept 24/7.
There’s a place in dreams I met you,
The place I call my heaven.
But that place got ripped apart
When you decided to return.
But no, not back to open arms:
A lesson I had to learn.
Slowly I gave up,
Though still seeing you every day.
Never words, just a shared glance,
And I want it to stay that way.
I’ve finally stopped caring,
The time we had is now done.
I’ve accepted there’s to hope for us.
Yours truly,
The one you called ‘The One’.
