His summer months were long and hard
But he felt unoppressed
“Just two months time then I know that I’m
Back to school for a bit of rest.”

The two months passed, all evil does
He began his junior year
“My load’s inclined but never mind!
Another summer’s near.”

A second summer came and went
No vacation passed him by
“I think I’m spent but I’ve always meant
To graduate or die.”

He got his wish. In fields of green
They laid him down to rest
And from his cold, dead fingers pried
His fiftieth standardized test

Mourners mourn this harried boy
Who worked himself deceased
To compensate, ‘bove his gravestone’s date
They carved “Now Rest in Peace”.
