Secrets
There once was a girl, tall, beautiful, and smart.
She lived two lives, each very different apart.
One is nice, filled with joy and pride,
The other, when you first heard it you could’ve just died.
The secret one is hidden under her clothes,
Traced with scars of sadness and nobody knows.
Her thighs and wrists cut shallow and deep,
She cries so much she’s running out of tears to weep.
She wears a fake smile every day, she wears long sleeves
So no one will see what’s hidden underneath, an innocent girl with no dignity.
She’s afraid to go home, because that’s where it stared
Oh and by the way, her mother’s departed.
Many think she has a wonderful life, in which she does not,
Most of the time, she’s lost in thought.
In where she can run, where she can hide, even though most of her has already died.
No one can imagine this kind of pain, always being tempted to hit the vain.
Then again comes back that big scary man, who’s stolen her innocence,
And locks her in a van.
She sits alone in the cold of night, no friends, no family…
Really, no one in sight.

This is the first poem I ever wrote. it's a bit iffy but i'm still working on improving my writing. This is partially based off a girl I once knew.
