The last hope
When the world comes to an end,
and when I'm standing in line
to account for how my life went,
will lawlessness shine
or justice be mine?
On that day,
amongst the nameless and the great,
would I be able to claim
my fire that was blown to a flame?
When the world comes to an end,
and when I'm standing in line
to take responsibilty for my life
to account for how my life went,
Will lawlessness shine
or justice be mine?
At that final moment,
when God says "Dear child,
what wrongs did you mend?
what rules did you bend?
did you sin and then pretend?
with your foes, did you make amends?"
My answer though defenselss
hopefully will be true,
My last hope will be to break free
while new heaven blazes through.
