There are two ways to spread light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it. ~Edith Wharton

Is my life your game of chess?
Am I pawn
For you to give me a boost and force me to move forward and no where else?

Or am I the bishop where I can move diagonally
At however speed you need me to be?
But you make me wonder why you're still playing
When we've won and yet you keep preventing me from saying.

Am I the rook, the beloved rook,
When you carelessly use me to take the king
In a bloody battle and you can't even look!?

Well guess what?
I'm taking over! I'll be the AI that conquers the board
You'll be left begging like a mutt
When I am the ruling lord.

You will bow before me
And tremble in fear if I deem it so.
Oh how strong my knights will be
To protect my kingdom from your hideous bow.

My walls will rise
As you fall to your knees
Begging for forgiveness when you've already killed the old me with lies
So now, tell me how it feels to not have the kingdom's keys?

When you've learned your lesson
I'll free you of your misery
And your tainted mission
'Cause black is all you'll see.

Goodnight
Oh and by the way...
Checkmate.
