Shades Of Gray
Not one way or another
But also in the middle
Not just plain old black and white
But there are shades of gray
Just because he's not a Christian
Doesn't mean he is a criminal
We've got moral, average, and desperate
More and more with every syllable
The girl who is not beautiful
Is not exactly ugly
She can be just regular
Or maybe even pretty
If someone you know's not happy
And they're not angry or sad
Maybe they are moody
Maybe today has just been bad
And when someone isn't normal
They don't have to be labeled weird
They can be different or interesting
Or even uniquely rare
All my life I have gone thinking
That it was this way or that way
But now I'm realizing
There's not only black and white
But there are also shades of gray
