Fall Nightmare
Screams loud and chilling awoke us from slumber
Out the bedroom window we saw horror
A bright orange glow consumed our friends' home
An evil face in the flames proudly shown
Fear stricken my sister and I
Screamed for our mother who ran outside
With tears streaming down my face
My heart continually quickend its pace
At so young an age I sat inside
And hugged my dachshund as I cried
I prayed the best that I could
While biting my cheeks and tasting blood
It was a nightmare come true
In the cool night air that blew
I found after being so alarmed
Our friends were safe and unharmed
But the reality of that fire chilled me to the bone
Oh how awful it is to loose a home
