The Little Match Girl
The little match girl
Lived a terribly sad life
Selling matches for survival
Day and night
She called to passersby
Here, and there
Climbing to the tops of litten lamps
“They’re cheap, I swear”
Freezing half to death
She forged through the streets
Until ultimately her matches blew out
And she was finally at peace

I was inspired to write this article by the short Disney film of the same name, because although it lacked words, it managed to reduceme to tears all the same
