Love of a Different Color
I was told that someday i’d fall in love with a man
I’d inherit passion from polished rings on wrinkly hands
I’d cherish roses from him in a way none and all understand
I'd give him children to love
And so when I told them I fell in love with the breeze
With the worlds between the world and me
With the tulips peeking out from a winter seed
They said that my love wasn’t real
