i once met a girl
who had scars that sank deep into her wrist
once the girl let me trace the marks
my fingertips brushing over her pain
along the miles of scarred flesh,
initials,
three letters
cut long ago, into her skin
and when asked why?
for he already carved himself into my heart
no matter what i do, he is an always
i trace the letters in
my mind,
everyday.
how could someone hurt something as perfect as
the sun and the stars?
