terrified
i’ve found comfort
in your
suffering.
perhaps that is
inconsiderate?
however, after countless nights
of tear-stained cheeks,
dripping mascara,
after weeks upon weeks of
of grieving,
faulting myself,
hating myself,
i realized,
you too, are at fault for this,
for us.
so, if i have to suffer,
i find comfort in the fact that
you have to suffer too.
and even know you’re pretending
and ignoring
and living on,
i know that
-you pretend to be okay, but at night in the unforgiving darkness, you’re terrified
