Mar y Cielo
I am a sky.
The world is an ocean.
It will never reach me.
Our distance won’t fade.
I am a cloud,
a cumulus
that rains and opens up a trumpet section of flowers
with loud, arrogant noise.
I make the world bloom,
but I am unseen.
In the band of instruments that is this universe
I take my place as the invisible beat of the drum,
tip-tapping a melody of blue into retinas,
but they never bother
to
look
up.
