Girth
Am I a monster
For trying to empathize
With those who never sympathize?
Am I a bundle of insanity
For bearing too much humanity?
-or amity to your dauntless?
If a man drove a machine
Without the instinct to kill,
And yet he did make that kill,
Shall he be killed?
Now, still,
Imagine he is you,
Alone,
No home.
Crash and bash,
And a crumbling figure
With a name, a home,
Bears now only blood and bone.
Oh,
I shall return
To the rumble of the Earth,
Victim,
Inside a deep girth,
I cried and yet,
I've seen worse.
