Sunshine Girl
Her eyes say innocence,
Her touch says kind,
Her heart is sunshine,
As well as her mind,
I saw Sunshine Girl look up at the sky,
Smile as if she had never cried,
As if laughter was oxygen,
She was happy and never had to try,
Winter came and Sunshine Girl still shined,
Her eyes still shone so bright,
But I think I saw her close her eyes once,
Oh she closed them so tight,
Sunshine Girl forgot to laugh,
Why no one even noticed this,
But she still smiled every day,
She was still full of bliss,
One day Sunshine Girl came to school,
Her eyes were red,
As well as her heart,
“I’m fine” sunshine girl said,
Then it occured to me,
She was never really okay,
It was all an act,
Like this personality had hid behind every word she’d say,
Something about her new look,
Oh it seemed so familiar,
Something about her old smile,
Something was still oh so similar,
Was it ever real?
The sunshine in her eyes,
Or was it just a cover,
To hide every time she cries,
No one seemed to notice,
Or cared or about the pain in every word she said,
Until Sunshine Girl dyed her hair blue,
And her wrist an awful shade of red,
I found Sunshine Girl one night,
Staring at the sky,
She got oh so dangerously curious,
Jumped off the roof to see if she could fly,
