Deep
Can profoundness only thrive with the coexistence of pain?
Where life itself is vain
And each action twists your fate
Happiness becomes a burden
Love you learn to hate
Are emotions only relevant when toxic to your heart?
Slowly eroding you soul
Til you're completely torn apart
Why do I only feel when I crave to be numb?
These tears of acid burn my cheeks
And shape who I become:
Only darkness exists throughout the dull day
And cold nights
No longer familar to the warm embrace of light.

Pieces of writing only seem to be "deep" when they're sad. People only seem to care about your emotions when you're drowning in sorrow. It's a constant cycle of playing a martyr to have people actually care for you, but the reality of it is much darker.
