It's okay

It's not okay

Look up

No look down

Calm down

Freak out

I come randomly

There is no Stopping me

Sweaty palms

Teary eyes

Stuttering voice

I'm the fear inside

You keep hidden

Unheard and unseen

Over and over I say the words

That make your heart beat faster and faster

I make you a prisoner in your own mind

I'm a daily reminder

Thoughts bathed into your mind

I keep you up at night...

Weak, Emotional, Fragile

Words I ground you with.

Everything is still

But I make it seem like a earthquake is happening

You either lose me

Or lose yourself…

But sometimes

We just flow together

To make peace

And breathe to realize

I'm just thoughts,

Thoughts no one but yourself can

Understand

The Narrator is Anxiety

When I created this poem I wanted other people to conncet to it and realize thier not alone on what they think or feel about a situlation

I have Social Anxitey, I wrote this to myself but a teacher told me "hey, you might wanna post this because there might be people out there who will understand and connect to it" and to be honest I do think there are people out there that will read my poem and feel a little happy that people can understand what your doing though, yeah its gonna be hard but I believie you're an amzing person.

(It would really make me happy to find out that someone really likes my poem)

cya!

Procrastination rules the nation!

This is definitely relatable, on so many levels. I'm glad you posted it so those of us here on TI could see! This is an amazing piece, and I hope to see more from you in the future!!
