I remember forgiving
I remember forgiving
I never thought I would or could
I fought against it while time passed
At first it was all i could think about
He wouldn’t show his face,
No one saw him for weeks
He thought he was doing the right thing for them,
For all of us
And I didn’t think it would make a difference when I turned on him too
But anger faded away and the slow ink of forgiveness seeped in
They say forgive and forget but can you really forget what you’ve forgiven
Are you not reminded every time you see his face
When you read his words on the flickering screen
And what can you do when he stops apologizing
When he gives up because he thinks he did the unforgivable
Did he?
