Sisters
I stand here
Bonded by birth
I promise I will never leave
Wide eyes entering the world
Unbeknownst to the spectacular and scary world awaiting
Thunder cracks and lightning strikes but
Always a watchful eye over the shoulder
Within the small world of hallways and bedrooms,
Accustomed to life together
Two princesses ruled a quaint kingdom
Your world expanded to hallways with classrooms
Mine stayed the same
The small world a little more lonely
with only one princess to rule it
Then the big world introduced itself
Less sparkly and special
More dreary and dreadful
The small world coming back to life when the clock struck four
But still a feeling had switched, swapped, no longer the same
Days passed by
The sparkle that once lit up our small world grew dimmer
Separated by pain and heartbreak
Thoughts of losing our love
But I stand here
By your side
Through our feelings of lostness
That we thought would never go away
I always stood there
