Richard Grayson
Lights flash throughout the tent
Popcorn and peanuts created the scent
There was a family of three
The grandest performance the audience will see
Dear Grayson, you are my shining star.
With you, my hands are never tied.
The first day we met we were eight
Our news, out of date.
Two nights ago, your parents fell.
Mentally you did as well.
Just like Caesar
This is the night your parents died.
Lights flash throughout the tent
Popcorn and peanuts created the scent
There was a family of three
The grandest performance the audience will see.
Each year you’d visit, tears in your eye.
Graves dug up, the day you met Bruce Wayne
Emerging as Robin with justice your aim
Fighting with Batman ever so sly
Lights flash throughout the tent
Popcorn and peanuts created the scent
There was a family of three
The grandest performance the audience will see
Dear Grayson, you brought me here
To Bludhaven, where our life can begin
Where we have a hand in
The battles that appear.
Lights flash throughout the tent
Popcorn and peanuts created the scent
There was a family of three
The grandest performance the audience will see

This is a free-verse/ballad poem I wrote during my creative writing class. It is dedicated to the Hero Nightwing (also known as Richard Grayson *or Dick Grayson*)
