Darkness
One moment you’re there,
The next
You’re gone
Like the darkness
You smell like damp blacktop
The musty smell filling my nose.
Your personality is
A rotting piece of wood,
Maggots gnawing the inside.
Like the darkness
You showed me black.
Blooming color engulfing me.
Your skin is
Gritty, rough like sandpaper,
Scratching my skin with agony.
Like the darkness
You kept me isolated,
Like a tiger clawing at his cage.
Your mischief is
A gleam in your forest eyes,
Your voice coaxing me to come.
Like the darkness
You left me alone,
When I turned on the light.
My freedom is
the clouds breaking, revealing
sunshine gasping from dark cloud.
Like the darkness
You showed me beauty-
Spiraling sentiments dancing.
Until you finally decided
To let
Me go.
