Everything Will Be Okay
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
He’ll be home soon we have no fear
There is no reason to shed any tears
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
Baseball games and dance recitals come and go
But through it all he could never show
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
Months go by without saying goodnight
Their mother would always hold them tight
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
They begin to miss him more and more
And wait for him every morning by the door
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
They heard the news and began to cry
Nothing could overcome the joy in their eyes
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
He walked through the door with his army green
All you could hear are his little kids scream
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
He’s back in his town where he belongs
He is known as a hero brave and strong
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
His moods change more often than not
The kids are confused and sometimes distraught
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
Why is our dad not the same
He can’t even say his own name
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter would always say
They tell him they love him with all their hearts
And he knows nothing will ever tear them apart
He loves his kids, wife, and town
And doesn’t let war turn him upside down
Everything will be okay
The son and daughter will forever say
