You again

When I first met you, my perception skewed

Seemingly innocent, yet wild

Curious, yet confined

Silly, yet serious

Fierce, yet furious

Hurt one another

We didn’t know what we were

Are we lovers?

Are we moral enemies?

Are we friends?

Are we beneficial for one another?

Your previous “other” damaged you

Not wanting to, you needed to be repaired

I, for years, have been yours to find

The shoulder you didn’t want to lean on

The one you didn’t want to rant to

The one you didn’t seek guidance from

But I am still here

I looked into your small umber eyes

Seeing the pain you spoke through tension

Your frizzy russet hair, down, and silky

Immediately, you looked away

You felt disgusting in your own skin

You told me not to stare

But it was all I could do

I kissed your forehead, consoling your thoughts

Those few hours felt like eternity

I told you

“You’re safe with me, so take my hand.”

All of this in mind

When I see

You again.

This was made about a friend of mine who has gone to hell and back. I love her and always will.
