The Forest
I’m walking through every possible direction,
And I’ve lost the path.
The epiphany of hope,
The blinding light that leads me home.
The smell of pine fills my lungs,
Making me queasy, light-headed,
Sick to my stomach.
I dread on, tortured and tattered.
My heart begins to sink,
I cannot find my family.
I cannot find home.
My soul is pulled down toward my stomach,
It tears at the seams.
The dizzying pine smell,
The constant ache,
The shadows haunt my mind.
They make me forceless,
Fragile, delirious.
Home is but a nostalgic memory.

This is my first-time publishing something, I have not published any of these poems to anybody else. If I do decide to publish elsewhere, I will let you know if it gets accepted there instead. My poems are each with a specific theme, all are different, so I hope you enjoy.
I have written things before, but I have never published or done anything of that sort. Most of my experience comes from my creative writing class, and I try to keep my poems under a consistent theme. The theme for each poem is different. For example, one might be about love and friendship, but another might be about getting lost emotionally.
