Our roots run deep
Even though
they can put
Our adolescents
To sleep
With big words,
Like a full grown oak
And skeletons of
What best sellers
Look like
Today.
They have made
Our culture
What it is.
They have shaped
The values
That hideout
In corners of our hearts.
From Sophocles
To Shakespeare
To Stephen King
One builds on the other.
The rings
Of a tree
Can not form
Without the rings
Before it.
A simple
But valuable
Lesson
From mother nature.
