The Gnome Trail
North Michigan in March—trapped in smokey haze.
Sweet home goodbye, I’m off with scissors to snip snap their scarves!
Oh dew on my suitcase dry quick!
Oh Dolly dear don’t dally,
the morning is young and the mist is thick.
Roads loping ‘round rural rustics,
big boxwoods, berry bushes, and buttery bumblebees
shoot past in the Fern Forest guiding our path as we frolic to and fro.
Sanctimonious snails sipping scotch, sassy snakes snacking on strawberry stew,
Typical day on the Gnome Trail, Dolly dear,
what a lovely penknife you are.
All pink and pert.
Let's get to work!
