Be the People You Used to Be
The unadulterated loathing passing between you two
The hate I see passing from you to you
The joy you both once felt was quite exuberant
Like a lion’s bravery, that strong
Friendship, you used to be friends, used to
But each day’s another fight
You try to think but just trying won’t turn out all right
Your friendship’s dying and no one can help
You turn from calm to calamity, instantly
Turn back the clock awhile, don’t act like the new you
Be the people you used to be
