Green Light
Do you ever feel like an airplane attempting to cruise the sky with a propeller on fire?
And you’re sinking down into silence, trying to grab hold of stability
But the fire just keeps getting bigger
And the air seems to be getting thinner
And there’s nothing you can do but fall, sink, crash, burn
Have you ever felt like a green light on a busy street?
No one stops to ask how you’re doing
No one thinks about how you feel
They just drive right past and forget you were ever there
Because you’re not red, so you didn’t make them stop and think
You’re not yellow so you didn’t make them slow down and pause at your presence
You’re just green and unnoticed
Once in a while we all just need to sit down
Breathe deep
And realize that what is the point of life if you’re not doing what you love
If you’re not smiling anymore
If you feel trapped, suffocated, bruised
You need to find fresh air, an escape, healing
You can change your path
Hose down the fire
Make people notice
And take a deep breath
Because if you keep living in a way that makes you unhappy
Then life will also pass you by, green light
without a pause or a smile
