Four Seasons
The smell of fresh cut grass, sizzling grilled foods, and catch in the backyard,
grazing through the grass gracefully to get to our fishing places
and feel the sun kiss our skin as water dripped down our faces,
tubing, waterskiing, and jet skiing through summer
seeing the leaves turn color is always a bummer.
The feeling of the cool fall wind set into play,
saying goodbye to the lake house, the summer days, and the warm weather,
saying hello to the sweatshirts, school days, and seeing old friends,
listening to the cheers and hollars as our team scores a touchdown,
going to haunted houses
and the goosebumps from a ghoul getting a scare out of you.
The sight of the Christmas lights, the snow flakes, and ski hills,
shredding down the hill with friends and family,
making cookies and milk for the old jolly fat man
and seeing the gifts lay under the tree.
The sound of birds coming back from the south,
and the green leaf buds growing off the limbs of the trees,
setting up the lakehouse for the summer days,
and unraveling the boats cover,
then the smell of fresh cut grass, sizzling grilled food, and catch in the backyard.
