Lies
It all started with a lie
It all started when I was told it was normal
but not to be talked about
WITH ANYONE
all it took was
one question
to set the truth free
the terrors that left my mouth that day
would change my life completely
all I remember about that day was
my mom put my grandma on the phone
sat me down in a chair
and simply said
"something happened to you stepsister"
"she was sexually assaulted"
"did anything happen to you"?
little did I know
one word
could break
My mother
and completely crush me
"yes," I said
She started asking questions
to many
my mind couldn't concentrate
i answered what I could
she dialed a number
as I zone out her voice
becomes mumbles
Then It all went *blank*
The next day I had to talk to people about it
They asked to many questions
but I answered them all
The next 5 months it would be
Every night nightmares
Constant reminders of the past
Enough tears to fill a bathtub
and then the trail starts
I'm constantly told I'm lying
The people I once called family
tell me I'm lying
and I'm wrong for accusing rape
one says I should go to prison
for
lying
But we've talked
and there are more girls
25 we know of
And to think it all started with
a
LIE
