Your Touch
Your hands graze against mine ever so softly
Some days they are smooth
The feeling lingers on my skin
But, as my fingers trace the outline of your hands
I feel the rough patches
They show the struggles in your past
How they become you and what they have made of you
My eyes always stay focused in on them
I will never allow myself to look up
Never into your eyes
Because if I do
There’s no going back
I was once mesmerized by your beauty
Awestruck by the pain and love in your eyes
Until I lost it
I will never allow myself to feel your love again
Only the edges of your fingertips
