Well, obviously I love you,

But I will tell you that at every moment of every day.

I will tell you I love you when I’m as angry as a bear shaken awake from hibernation,

when you’ve made a mistake and hurt me,

When you’ve done something cute or helped me in any way,

I will tell you I love you when you’ve said it to me

Because there is no reason to never say it to the love of your life.

When I am hurt and crying I don’t always want you to rip that knife out of my heart and to stop the bleeding.

I understand that you feel like you always have to be a knight in shining armor,

But I also know that you can’t fix everything!

So I want you to hold me and put your hand over the wound to stop the bleeding.

And I will do the same for the love of my life.

To the love of my life,

I will get kind of annoying.

You will get frustrated when I am distracted because there’s this book and it’s getting to the best part!

So just one more page, just one more chapter,

then suddenly it’s 73 pages later and I am just now looking up with tears of sorrow invading my eyes!

But I promise I will put it down eventually and I give you my complete, undivided attention to the love of my life.

When you get a bloody nose or a cut on your hand,

I will be overly concerned.

Then despite your protest,

I will make you lean there on the bathroom counter,

as I retrieve the First Aid Kit to clean, disinfect, and bandage you up.

Of course, only after you try insisting that you are fine and I give a stern look to the love of my life.

I will love you until the end of time.

Just as long as I am the love of your life.
