Where I am From
I am from pianos playing,
singing songs and families praying.
From the cobbled streets of Ireland,
to immigrants on Ellis Island.
I am from Grandma's house,
with my cousins watching Mickey Mouse.
I am from my father and mother,
my cozy room with my brother.
I am from many places.
From loving family and friendly faces.
I am from the small town of North Lake,
riding bikes and birthday cakes.
I come from a world of dreams
towering trees and swirling streams.
Memories made and stories to share
spending each moment with those who care.
I am from Boy Scout troop forty seven
earning badges when I was eleven.
where lessons were taught
tents were made and fish were caught
I am from sleepovers every Friday night
campfires crackling under moonlight.
Popcorn popping as movies would play
building forts in the woods all day.
