This is an ode to the ice in your eyes
That never melts not even when you tell lies
The eyes I wish were just a little more kind
But we all know that you would rather be blind

Because you use those eyes as a defense
But now you've got me playing offense
You always tell me not to take offense
How could I not when a battle is about to commence?

I wish you could let me behind those walls you’ve made
Then you could learn I'm only bringing aid
And if while I’m there you decide to let me stay?
It could be just the two of us until we go grey
Until you're so soft your walls are made of clay
Even until in the ground we lay
By your side
I want to forever stay

This started as an assignment in my creative writing class that I loved more than anything so I worked further on it to craft it into a piece I loved.
