We Will Scream
Everyday is the same thing
we wake up depressed
with their mountains of expectations holding us down.
Making our little heads fall in the water.
We are gasping for air
to scared to ask for the help we all desperately need.
You tell us how to feel.
Oh god, how we wish we could scream.
Scream for us.
Scream for them.
Scream for the injustice and the mess left for our hands
to pick up
even though we have demanded change.
They are ruining our future.
And all we will be.
But we are just a couple of teens
we still know nothing.
Yet we ask you to stop your mass productions
to save our dying world
beg for you to treat us like we all deserve life no matter our sex or race,
no matter who we chose to love.
You still fight these ideas we chant at you
as though we are the stupid ones.
You can't admit your own faults and see that we are dying.
It’s you to blame
you ignore our pleas to save the trees.
Don’t listen when we beg you to stop killing our colored brothers and sisters.
You mock women when we demand to be treated just the same as you.
We will scream
and cry.
Riot
and protest.
We will not stop
until it gets through your thick little heads
that we are all humans
trying to love
all the shapes and sizes that we come in.
You only protest us because we are no longer falling into your box
that’s been carefully schemed to keep us confined.
Not anymore.
We are human.
And we will scream.
