only red,
only orange,
gold,
the delirious artist dipping
brush into blood,
smearing red over trees
the palette bleeds.
green mixes with red,
trails of brown splattering,
sapling
after sapling
the palette bleeds.
his burning eyes
scorch holes in the sky,
the cold wind comes
down
down
down
the palette bleeds.
only red,
only orange,
gold,
falling leaves,

the tears are here,
