Rocks,

which stay and sleep with

the soils and stones,

admire the freedom of the tree.

Grasses

never feel envy or hate,

just quietly and smoothly

chat with their old friend.

An old man

stands behind the tree

and sees himself

in its withered and shriveled bark.

Nearby, a kid

smiles and admires and jumps

in front of the tree which

the tales are magic.

A naturalist

from the remote eastern hemisphere

tries to capture

the mysteries under each texture

of the tree.

Squirrels

with bushy red tails,

jump and swing

around the venerable tree.

Other trees,

as its family members,

hear each other's breaths

in the never ending nights.

Oceans

are infatuated with

the shadow of the tree,

its stable life.

Kites

travel through the air

with the fresh fragrance from

ponderosa pines from the wild.

Airplanes

are inquisitive and curious

about who

has stood there hundreds of years

without moving.

Clouds always regretfully

stare at their friend

from ten kilometers away.

Bats

become brave knights

in the dark and moonless night

to protect the castle.

Stars, clusters of stars

illuminate the tree

in that barren place.

Together with the natural world,

they contemplate the whole image

of wonderness.
