Don’t wear that
“Don’t wear that”
“Don’t eat too much”
“Don’t say that”
Don’t. don’t. Don’t.
In this world, we can’t wear what we want.
Because “The boys get distracted”
In this world, we cant eat what we want
Because “No one wants a fatty”
In this world, we can’t say what we want
Because “It’s not ladylike”
In this world, we are torn down
Because boys can’t control themselves
But it’s our fault, right?
Because our bodies are “too distracting”
Or our body doesn’t “Please” the boys.
Or we can’t speak the way “boys” do
The way we dress, or eat, or speak has nothing to do with them.
The way we dress, or eat, or speak is our decision
But speak up and you will get shot down.
How dare you speak against the man,
Against the mighty “Superior Gender”
Shut up.
Shut your mouth.
You don’t have the right.
That’s what we get told.
You deserve what happened to you
You’re worthless
Stupid.
We get ridiculed for existing.
That’s what it’s like to be a girl.

I wrote this piece a few months ago after watching the show 'skins'. Where girls are strongly looked at only physically.
