The Gate
A lack of sharing emotion crumbles to an end when you fall in love.
When you fall in love your heart opens up like a gate,
A gate in which is too heavy to close until thy heart breaks.
To close off the sharing of emotions and wonder,
A brothel of thy heart and ones love will commence
Dehumanizing the emotions of one's true honor.
The big brown gaze in which used to puncture my half broken heart,
Now gazes past me for I am to doubt.
In light, I am dark to your eyes.
At dawn, I am dim.
You look past me as if I am to be condemned.
My intention was never to hurt,
But to soothe a longing for one I no longer know.
A feeling from another to match the one who took it all.
I tell you I love you,
I swear it to be true,
Just not how you love too.
You love my light and potential to be good,
But one thing you missed was this is my credential.
I am just as bad and rotten as the one who took it all,
As if I tricked myself to blame another, when the true problem lied within the front cover.
As no cry for pity,
Or longing for self love,
I am here to apologize for closing the gate.
The intention was never to do so,
But to conspire my truth.
On a plus side,
When the gate closed,
Like a vacuum.
It all came back to you.
