When I close my eyes your there you hold me in your arms
Words slip past your lips and I feel a brush of air tickle my ear as you speak
Yet what you say is a mystery for I am too busy enjoying your warmth
Your shirt smells like lavender despite your denial
And sure I rarely smile but being in this moment one decided to form
When I open my eyes will you promise not to go?
For I will surely cry if you let me go
Let me just this once indulge in the song that is your heartbeat
As you lay kiss after kiss upon my head
My love, must you live only in my dreams?
