Death calls upon me
Death calls upon me
reclining on the ocean bed,
crooning lullabies to the dead
Can you listen to it?
death whispering secrets
ghastly and lofty
Like a river in the sea
Oh death calls upon me
I lay naked and drunk on the shore
waves scrabbling abjectly to me
Alas! They return in melancholy
Oh Death calls upon me
Everything beautiful has to be forsaken,
I, surrender to death
jocund, sepulchral, discreetly
Oh death calls upon me
Liberate me from the intricacies of burial,
the mourning and drudgery
Oh Death calls upon me
Love of a lifetime is not enough,
to sustain the tragedy
of me dying,
but anything would do except living
Oh O, darling! O, love!
existence is a formality
living, formidable.
Oh O Death calls upon me
the waters blue cold, I say
but isn't love about enduring
I am drowning, I weep
Isn't love about dying
In the abyss of the ocean
Arcane and beautiful
I am gone
From now on, death isn't lonely
Oh death calls upon me
