When I Need You
When the concrete is cold
But I still don’t get up
When the die has been rolled
And it all seems like luck
When lies have been told
When truth can’t be found
When laughter is old
I need you around.
When the sunrise is bright
And joy’s no longer a surprise
When it’s “will” instead of “might”
And I don’t wipe my eyes
When love holds me tight
And laughter is found
When I’m rejoicing
I need you around.
When time is flying
And there’s too much to do
When I’m trying
But still falling through
When I’m stressing
And running aground
When I think I’m too busy
I need you around.
When the concrete is cold
Then your hand is warm
When the die has been rolled
You protect from the storm
When lies have been told
Then forgiveness is found
I’ll remember always
I need you around.
