Want to hide but too scared to lie
Loneliness.
I try to eat it for dinner.
Gulp it. Swallow it. Chew it.
Yet it’s too hard to swallow.
As the wind tickles and pierces into
Your naked bare back,
There is not even a shadow
To help you close the midnight window.
Greediness.
I try to bury it for the better.
Dig it. Bury it. Cover it.
Yet it is too big to be buried.
As the flaunting and flashing
Friends of yours fly through clouds.
There is no success you own,
That could comfort you through the day.
Darkness.
Let yourself adjust to it and forget the light.
Sadness
Let yourself pretend that the smiling facade is right.
Friendship
Let yourself be fine alone and fly away like a kite.
Success
Let yourself trust failures and leave without a fight.
Life is too short for regrets,
So bury them up even when you can’t.
Say goodnight to yourself,
Welcome you to your own bed.
Want to cry but too scared to be bare,
Want to love but too scared as it’s rare,
Want to fly but too scared to die,
Want to hide but too scared to lie.
