The smoke that hits my lips is sour
As I’m sure your words will turn
Bitter taste still in my mouth
Thoughts of you biting at the edge of my mind
Knowing there will always be
Someone
Something
Somewhere
Better than me
I look at the sunset and think of you
I pick up my phone as momentary relief
And see a picture that reminds me of you
I check my messages again
Try not to calculate the hours it's been since I saw them
