Opposition
I walk through the tunnel,
Nothing but icy blades
Of condensed water meet me.
Awaiting,
The contemporary me.
The new and improved-
New Years’ me.
Maybe I’ll surge
Back into
Mint gum
And pressing cold
Spineless fingers
Around my wrists.
Or perhaps butterflies I will
Dabble against-
Bone dry
Skin.
Whatever path we take,
I know one thing;
Every action has
An equal and Opposing
Reaction.
So amongst the dark
Familiar with the dusk
There will be
A crazed frenzy,
In which
My inhibitions
Will be knocked out,
Square.
And I
Broken girl in mirror.
Shall remain.
On top of the world.
