Song of Sorrow
A long and narrow sound echoes down the hall
Dark and empty I stand, swaying to the tune
With bittersweet memories rolling off the tongue
Once full of life and vivid color
The world is now an endless gray
Music has vanished off the streets
The sound of steps keeping us in time
Melodies of traffic
Harmonies of voices
Various other instruments were played
Now alone I stand
In a long and narrow hall
With a dark and empty song of sorrow

This is a poem about returning to a place that held significance to you, only to find it's nothing like your memories. It's hollow.
